Water Polo

Our Mission Statement:

North Water Polo is affiliated to Swim England (Amateur Swimming Association).

To provide a structured, sustainable, water polo opportunity for every member to reach their full potential.

A progressive program to develop youth through primary and secondary school ages to senior and masters age groups are envisaged with competition in LYG, London League and clear pathways to National Age Groups, National League and International Representation.

Why Play Water Polo?

Water Polo is an Olympic sport, first invented in Britain in 1870, and today played by both men and women, girls and boys.

Playing against the clock, opposing teams swim and pass the ball around each other, attempting to throw it into the opposition’s net and score a goal

.Water polo is popular because it combines the fun of swimming with the tactics and communication of a team sport. It’s a great sport for children to try because, in water polo training, they can develop the shooting skills of handball, the ball-handling skills of basketball or netball and the speed and stamina of swimming.

You don't have to be a champion swimmer to play water polo but it’s a very effective way to get fit in the pool, working many muscle groups in the body. Players learn to tread water for long periods and, during competitive matches, can swim up to three miles at a high tempo through the course of a game

We Welcome players  that are  already training in Water Polo in North London and wished to participate to National age groups tournament and water polo league .
